Withdrawal Process
To help families navigate the withdrawal process smoothly and responsibly, Brighter Horizons Academy (BHA) provides the following guidelines:
- Official Notice Requirement
- The Withdrawal Form is the only accepted method for notifying the school of a student’s withdrawal.
- A separate form must be completed and submitted for each student.
- No other form of notification will be accepted.
- Notice Period & Financial Responsibility
- A 30-day notice is required for all withdrawals during the school year or summer.
- If the required notice is not submitted via the Withdrawal Form, the family will be responsible for the next tuition installment.
- All outstanding financial obligations must be settled to maintain good standing.
- Return of School Property
- If the student has attended classes during the academic year, all textbooks must be returned directly to the respective teacher.
- All library books must be returned to the librarian.
- Release of Records
- Student records will not be released to parents/guardians or transferring schools until:
- The withdrawal process is completed.
- The financial account is fully settled.
- Student records will not be released to parents/guardians or transferring schools until:
- Non-Attendance Is Not Withdrawal
- Failure to attend classes, including at the beginning of the school year, does not constitute a withdrawal.
- No adjustments to tuition or fees will be made for students who do not attend class.
- Refund Policy
- No refunds will be issued for tuition or fees for the month in which the Withdrawal Form is submitted.
- High School Transcript Implications
- For 11th and 12th grade students, if a withdrawal occurs mid-semester:
- Classes dropped before the official deadline will be marked with a W on the transcript.
- Classes dropped after the deadline will receive a failing grade.
- BHA staff, counselors, and leadership are not responsible for transcript outcomes resulting from mid-semester withdrawals.
- For 11th and 12th grade students, if a withdrawal occurs mid-semester:
- Exit Interview

- No Exceptions
- Parents/guardians are financially responsible for tuition and fees as outlined in this policy, regardless of the reason for withdrawal.
- No exceptions will be made.
